STORY TIME
I am always worrying about doing well at school with the end of year test coming up i am not sure how much longer i can cope my thoughts swarm around my head sometimes keep me up all night some days it’s just all too much and i feel like i’m lost in space when i did bad on one of my tests i just about kept it together until i got home then i broke down crying in front of my mum, she listen for a bit and then she told me that just like physical health we all have mental health it’s our feelings our thinking our emotions and our moods she then said that feelings down, angry.and stressed is a normal part of life just like it’s normal to feel happy confident and carefree sometimes we all have positive and negative emotions they come and go based on what’s happening around us ,these are everyday feelings .
GOOD MENTAL HEALTH means experiencing negative emotions it’s not always about being happy mom can relate to the feelings of stress so… when mom suggested i take a break from everything and do something i enjoy , I actually took her advice so i made myself a hot chocolate snuggled up in a duvet and watched a film and you now what? afterwards i felt so much better, mom should take her own advice!
Most of us only ever share the good things we don’t like to share how we really feel.
While its not always easy to talk about our mental health the person person we are talking to might be able to help if you don’t feel like talking that’s fine !
You could try writing , reading, sports , painting, dancing, singing , art , music, playing with your pet, whatever makes you feel better.
If you’re the person someone talks to when they’re struggling just listen with no pressure or judgements you don’t have to have answer if you feel unsure about anything you can speak to a trusted person or adult.
Talking about mental health doesn’t have to be difficult after all its something we all have.
TIPS TO IMPROVE MENTAL HEALTH
There maybe times when you don’t just feel like yourself if this happens more than a three weeks it could be a sign that one should be concerned about one’s mental Health .
There are 10 warning signals about poor mental health that one should look out in oneself and other who might need help.
FIRST- SADNESS: Temporary sadness because of some genuine reason is acceptable but if one feel extremely sad and finds nothing can lift up one’s spirit for more than a couple of weeks then this condition needs attention.

SECOND-FEELS FEARFUL SOMETIMES FOR NO REASON : This could also be accompanied by heavy breathing and a rapid heart rate.

THIRD-LOSS OF APPETITE OR INCREASE APPETITE : Such changes in food habits lead to remarkable weigh loss and weight gain, stress and anxiety may result in loss of appetite or have the energy to eat on the other hand overeating comfort food can provide temporary relief from depressing thoughts and feelings .

FOURTH- PROBLEMS IN PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Due to sudden mood changes ,this can make one’s life very complicated if ones partner or family member are not understanding and sympathetic.

FIFTH-RESTORING TO THE USE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS :These methods can provide only momentary relief from mental stress and can bring frustration in the long run.

SIXTH- OVERALL CHANGES IN PERSONALITY: Behaviour such as isolating oneself from family friends and colleagues is an obvious sings that something is wrong.

SEVENTH- ANGER: Unpredictable of anger and use of strong words shows that the person needs help.

EIGHTH- DISTURBED SLEEPING HABITS: One should be sleeping very less or too much if one is depressed or completely stressed out.

NINTH-DIFFICULTY IN CONCENTRATION: OR keeping one body steady ones finds it difficult to focus on the given task or makes nervous body movements mental lethargy can make it harder to follow conversations or thinking quickly .

TENTH- DECREASE IN ENERGY LEVEL: One feels extremely unmotivated to do regular activities and is reluctant to take up any initiatives ,For Example- if one loves gardening or playing cricket such activities may not interest them anymore, someone may find even difficult to get out of bed this could a sure sign of the ones mental health needs attention.
